Harman Projects is pleased to present There You Will Find The Stone, a solo exhibition by Philadelphia-based fiber and installation artist Caitlin McCormack. Known for her intricate crocheted sculptures, McCormack's latest body of work delves into deeply personal themes of memory, isolation, and existential dread through an uncanny and self aware lens.

In this new body of work, McCormack continues to explore the interplay between the corporeal and the ephemeral. Utilizing hand-crocheted cotton string, glue, and various mixed media, her sculptures resemble osteological specimens, evoking a sense of both brittle fragility and fossilzed permanence. These pieces serve as artifacts of memory, tethered to surfaces and made viewable from a distance, inviting viewers to contemplate the distortion of recollection over time.

McCormack states: "This series began in a pocket of time when I was completely alone. Grief will do that—conjure the places you’ve been and put them back in your hands, not to keep, but to understand. There You Will Find The Stone is a ritual of reverse archaeology, using objects as mnemonic anchors. Each work is a reliquary of uncertainty—offering instructions, invitations, warnings, or spells for someone who has already left."

The exhibition features a range of works, including Let’s Get Demonized (Instructional Polyhedron), You Should Have At Least Sent A Card, and Milkvetch (How Much More Can They Hold?). These pieces, among others, showcase McCormack's ability to transform traditional craft techniques into powerful expressions of autobiographical self expression.
