Here's a behind the scenes look of inside the studio of artist duo KeFe, as they prepare for their upcoming solo exhibition Music Island.

Music Island is a constructed place built to honor the rituals of music—of listening, and those of performing. Informed by their memories and lives surrounded by music: from family to radio, from live show to mixtapes, from painting to parenting, KeFe has mapped their unique trajectories and meditations, and settled upon an actual place.

Of the exhibition, KeFe explains: “Music Island is a private place where you can build your own soundtrack—where you can get lost in your thoughts. It’s a space for reflection while staying present. For us, it’s also the very place our process relies on in the everyday sense of sitting down- where processing drives process.”

This is their first exhibition in San Francisco in many years, and the first to place music at the center of their collaborative work—though, as they note, “every show we’ve ever made has already been about music in so many ways.”
Please join us for the opening reception of Music Island on December 6th at 1275 Minnesota Street, San Francisco 94107 at Harman Projects SF.
Wine and spirits will be generously provided by Kokoro Spirits and Vocal Vineyards, and the artists will be in attendance.
