GATS
California-based artist GATS (an acronym for “Graffiti Against The System”) is an international graffiti legend, whose public art can be found across the United States, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Central America. Known for the iconic mask seen predominately throughout the artist’s work, the face of GATS can often be spotted peering out from an alley way or stretched across a rooftop, greeting passerby’s with it’s all-seeing gaze. Representing a sense of duality, GATS’s iconic totem has been filled with intricate insignia over the years, speaking to the artist’s autobiographical experiences.
GATS has exhibited solo presentations at Kaikai Kiki Hidari Zingaro (Tokyo), Hashimoto Contemporary (San Francisco), ComplexCon (Long Beach), Context Art Fair (Miami) and the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art (Santa Barbara, CA).
They are represented by Harman Projects, New York City.
